The secretary to formally reply now and remind everyone nearer the time. It was also noted that Duns should book its own start of season single sheet of ice to help and encourage newcomers.

6. President's report season 2004/5:

Following on from last year’s successful club get together, we had another successful barbeque courtesy of Chris Lucas. There was another successful league competitive season with one rink les than the year before. Our spring league format was an unusual departure to a skins format. Thanks to Colin Jeffries for the explanations which helped everyone find their way, more or less.

Our other competitions, John Martin , pairs and points were well attended and enjoyed and thanks to the organisers. Results in Border League were disappointing but there is always next year. George, Margaret, John I and Allan participated in the Grand match, winning their game and helping the south to victory. Colin J, Brian, Colin M and John H commendably reached the final of the Laidlaw Trophy.

The number of individual member successes were up on last year with:
· Colin J in the Swan Trophy winning rink.
· The Hodge family won the family bonspiel
· The 2 Colins were in the winning Ralph Brooks team
· Liz’s rink came second in the Marie Curie
· Colin and Liz’s rinks won the Gala cup and Harry Hogg
· Chris Lucas won the Swinton pairs, the ladies Oakroom Bonspiel and the fancy Dress competition.
· George’s rinks won the Earlston Bonspiel and the Ford bonspiel
· Paul won our own Duns bonspiel

As retiring president, I would like to thank the following for their support and hard work: Margaret as ladies’ rep, Robert as vice-president, Paul as treasurer and webmaster, Colin J for the club card and regular advice, Colin M for his deep knowledge of Borders curling, committee members for organising competitions and John W as secretary. 13. Competitions structure: Skins experiment – Colin J proposed returning to a standard format and, after a vote, theis was carried. With only 5 rinks probable for 05/06 it was agreed that the competitions structure should give around the same number of games as 03/ 04 and 04/05. A brief discussion about 3rds formally skipping in the 3rd league resulted in this being declined, principally because the same thirds previously had been uncomfortable with such a structure.

14.1 Margaret reminded lady members about the RCCC meeting in Kelso.
14.2 Paul noted the RCCC £1 increase in subs
14.3 Chris suggested the club change the colours of the club jumper, change the position of the badge / curler name but retain the current badge in the new colour / geography format.
