Ask / phone members for pairs, bonspiel & points playing intentions in January.
Best get one or two reserves if possible, one to attend the first session on the day. 16 / 24 players needed.
Check Saturday ice charges and check proposed costs with Treasurer.
Make the draw with at least one other club member, perhaps at the beginning or end of a league game in Jim’s office.
Find out who has the Pairs trophy from the previous year and ensure it will be in attendance.
Create the new draw sheet – see sample draws for 16 or 24 people.
Print out a master copy of the rules.
Prepare the covering letter, envelopes & stamps as needed
Photocopy, distribute and / or post out the information to participants in good time ie letter, draw and rules, not less than one week before the event.
Pairs names on slips of paper for the sweep (2 slips with each pair) @£1. £5*2 for high road winners, £3*2 for low road winners. Make a simple sheet for display showing cost + winnings.
Plenty raffle tickets + some change in a box with a lid + container for mixing tickets 50p per strip
Spare draw sheet to register participants and note ice fees paid
Get some change for ice fees
Ask beforehand for someone to do
Afterwards. Present prizes and draw raffle and pay out to Sweep winners.
Pay for ice – advise Treasurer if there is a shortfall that will be billed by ice rink.
